Akhir pekan lalu, ajang penghargaan Golden Joystick Awards 2018 selesai digelar. Sebanyak puluhan judul game terbaik tahun ini berebut nominasi dan penghargaan di salah satu ajang penghargaan game tersebut. Enggak disangka, game Battle Royale Fortnite besutan Epic Games berhasil terpilih sebagai game terbaik tahun ini pada ajang tersebut.
Fortnite berhasil mengalahkan deretan game kuat seperti God of War, Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, dan Red Dead Redemption 2 yang sangat diantisipasi tahun ini. Selain meraih gelar tertinggi Game of the Year, Fortnite juga mendapat penghargaan Best Competitive Game.
